The Engrafted Word.
teaching & life ministry
Welcome to The Engrafted Word teaching & life ministry. On this website and it's ministry counterpoints I will attempt, with the sole help of God and the Spirit, to help understand and dig deeper into God's amazing Eternal Word, the 66 book love letter He wrote us. We live in the end times and it is prophesied of how people will depart the faith and Truth, and we see that clear as day. I seek to, in this ministry, essentially bring back Truth. I ask that nothing I say is trusted or believed, but you examine every word I speak with the Word of God and in meditation and prayer with our God.
I seek to rightly divide the Word of God (see Rightly Dividing the Word study) and in sincere and genuine love of Truth, let His Words shine through rather than my own opinion. We are commanded to handle His Word with respect and teach it to all of our bredren and sistren in Messiah. My faith is statement is in the About section, but I believe in the Triune God; the Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and that salvation is found alone in Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ), and belongs to those who seek after Him and do His Father's Will.
I pray He enables me to be used greatly to all of our benefit and most importantly to His Glory. I thank God for He has blessed me with spiritual understanding into His Word, and it does not make me better or more knowledgeable than the next, but I do not wish to bury my talent that is only by His Spirit but to go into the markets. So, let us, together, unravel the Word and seek It's amazing mysteries! I have been given the name "the Engrafted Word" and see this ministry as embodying it's meaning, which I explain below.
Selah and Shalom.
The Engrafted Word Study
“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the Engrafted Word, which is able to save your souls.” James 1:21 KJV
When Elohim gave me this verse to focus on and start His ministry with it's name I realized how overlooked and forgotten this verse is, including within my own studies. I believe this verse is a beautiful illustration of not only how to live and walk in the Way, but also shows our great salvation in Yeshua Messiah.
When using all of Scripture and reading it we must divide the Word properly (See Dividing the Word study) and in this instance we must take James in it's context. This epistle is very well known and respected, and is by far one of my favorite if not my favorite; beginning to count it as joy when you fall into temptations (v. 1), knowing that the trying of your faith works patience (v. 2), and to let said patience have her perfect work in you, making you perfect and lacking nothing (v. 3). It says to ask wisdom if you lack which God gives (v. 4), asking in faith and not wavering (vs. 5-6), or you shall not receive it (v. 7).
When we break this verse down into the Greek meaning and to paraphrase it, we see it's message: “Through which (referring to verses before), put away from yourself all moral dirtiness and abundance of wickedness, and receive with meekness and humility the Engrafted / Implanted Word, which is able to save your souls.” We read that the Spirit, through James, is telling us to put away all wickedness and badness, that which opposes the Righteous Way; all things of the flesh and the wrath of man that works not the righteousness of God (v. 20). It then says “and,” so while we do this we receive with humility the Engrafted Word, and this is none other than Yeshua Messiah.
We know that Yeshua is the Word (John 1:1-6), and is God, and is with God. This Greek is Logos and is the same word used for the Word in John 1, and is the Divine Expression (see The Word in the Beginning study). Not only is Yeshua the Word, and being one in the same with the Physical Expression, the Scriptures, but He is the Word, the Divine Aleph Tav that we receive and is able to save our souls. This verse explains to us how to live and our purpose for salvation, to walk in the Righteous Way of God (see The Righteous Way study), repenting of our sins (see Repentance study), and receiving the Righteousness and Salvation that Yeshua Messiah offers us and is found within Him alone.
The Greek and Hebrew of the Scriptures always reveal such beautiful mysteries to us, and many times we overlook them for the sake of the English. For instance, when we read “receive with meekness the Engrafted Word,” we simplify it due to the English. But let us go into these words in depth for further revelation. I want to focus on this Engrafted word. This is the Greek emphutos and comes from en and phuo. This word emphutos means implanted, figuratively, and engrafted. For the sake of the English, according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary implanted is defines as “to put (something) in a specified place, especially medical: to place (something) in a person's body by means of surgery” and “to cause (something) to become a part of the way a person thinks or feels.” Engrafted is identified mostly with a plant, possibly even a tree, with the same definition roughly as implanted.
Before we look at that and decipher it, let us go to the Greek. The first word to make up emphutos is en, which is a primary preposition denoting a fixed position “(in place, time, or state) and (by implication) instrumentality (medially or constructively), that is, a relation of rest”, in, but interestingly enough also “give self wholly to,” according to Strong's Concordance. The second word, phuo, is a primary verb “to puff or blow, that is, to swell up; but only used in the implied sense, to germinate or grow (sprout, produce), literally or figuratively: spring up.” Entertain me for a bit and Selah on all of this. When we understand the Spiritual Word, the essence and aspect of Yeshua both in Scripture, Divine Expression / Essence, and His Sacrifice on Calvary, and then take the definitions here of this word for Engrafted, do we see the beauty? This verse is saying to receive, freely with humility the Word that is implanted into us. The Word that is put in us, “to cause Something to become a part of the way a person thinks or feel.” Not only this, but this Word that is blown into us, swells us up, implied, but to grow, sprout within us and to spring up within us. I believe this is metaphorically speaking of Yeshua, the Tree of Life, in both His Essence and Scriptures, being put into us and growing within us, become a part of how we think and feel. How beautiful is this?
We put away the unrighteous ways, choose to walk in the Way and receive Yeshua within us, the Word Which changes us and grows within us, Which is able to save our souls by His Sacrifice and our Walking Rightly. It is also the Engrafted Word being the Scriptures and by sowing it into our hearts and souls so we may conform our minds, beings, and lives to the Way of Scripture as well as understanding our God through His Love Letter that He gave to us. How amazing is our God, and how spectacular the Scriptures? So with this, welcome to The Engrafted Word Ministries, and let us walk together, receiving with humility the Engrafted Word which is able to save our souls, unfolding the Scriptures and walking the Righteous Way with our Elohim through Messiah with the Spirit!
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness The Engrafted Word, which is able to save your souls. James 1:21 KJV
